We Need to Do So Much More to Sell a House Now

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner

Great article in the New York Times Real Estate Section today about what we Real Estate Agents/Brokers need to do to sell a house in this market.  We now come in with "teams" not of agents but of painters, stagers, mortgage brokers, florists, contractors, CPA's, plumbers, electiricans, landscappers, and cleaning people.  We are at the ready to get done whatever needs to be done to whip a house into shape so that it will be the biggest, meanest, cleanest and most presentible in its' neighborhood.  Primed to sell whatever it takes.

Doing More and More, here.

It seems like thats how it goes with any business. The more competition there is, the more you've gotta do to set yourself apart from the competition. I wonder what it will be like in 20 years? How will realtors have to do then? Market a home to the world, you think!?

Homes must be in move-in condition if a seller is going to get a decent price today.  A house that is cluttered with poorly maintained landscaping often won't even get folks past the foyer or sometimes not even through the front door.

We drive up to the hosue, they take one look and say, "Next".

I have to laugh becasue that used to be my line.  Buyers are really selective these days.
