Tech Tip #9: Docusign
Technology can be a great help in your real estate career. However, just because it is the new 'flashy' thing doesn't mean that it will actually make you more productive. I can say from experience that many tools end up just getting in the way and actually can slow you down. With that in mind, here is the the ninth (of 10) tech tips that have proven to be a great help with my real estate business.
Today's tech tip is Docusign, an electronic signature service. Here in Las Vegas, NV, it is legal for us to use electronic signatures within real estate contracts. This can be a great time saver and a way for you to get your buyers offers to the listing agent faster then the competition.
Docusign Electronic Signature Docusign is a service that allows your clients to electronically sign a document, wherever they are in the World, via a computer, smartphone or tablet. It has been most useful to our team if the client either lives out of state or doesn't own a scanner or fax machine. In those cases, we can email the documents and they electronically sign it from their device.
It sounds complicated, but it is actually quite easy. When you create a document with electronic signatures embedded in Docusign, your clients will receive an email that looks similar to this.
Docusign Electronic Signature e-mail Once your client clicks the "View Documents" button, you will get an email notification that the email has been opened and viewed. Your client then simply taps or clicks approval as the program guides them thru the pre-determined electronic signatures and/or initials that you placed on the document. Once the document is finished, you will get a confirmation email with the PDF attached - complete with all electronic signatures.
Docusign has saved me from having to drive around the city collecting signatures and has also allowed me to get offers turned in quicker. That sounds like a win-win to me! Just make sure electronic signatures are legal in your state. Googl
