You've Found IT....Fallen in Love and Make an Offer-and Holding your breath for an Outcome!

I know that Realtors are fortunate enough to see this and hear this all the time.  You may have worked with a couple for AGES, shown them dozens and dozens of homes and just when you're ready to cash in the towel, you catch that "look."  The one you've seen before...the one that says they can't LIVE without this house.

There are offers to be made, Home Inspections to sweat through and mortgages to qualify for....and what about the BIDS from other potential occupants?  I can't even imagine how stressful it is because if Activerain is ANY indication how hard a Realtor will work for a client to get them into THEIR home, that's a LOT of work to be done and some sleepless nights.

Although it may sound odd to hear it, in the midst of all this excitement oftentimes Feng Shui Consultants are called in as well.   These calls can come at any time and we'll often hear an incredibly happy voice on the line.  They've found a home, they are in LOVE---and they want you to check it just to make sure the Feng Shui is "Good."

Amazing to when I think back years ago this was not really a consideration except by a few but now (at least in New York) it is so mainstream that many homes rarely sell without a Feng Shui Consultant evaluating it first.  Many will go to the property to actually see it, some can do this by pictures and most should ask first and foremost if they LOVE it.  Though there may be things that are not ideal in Feng Shui, your Energy is much more powerful then you believe---I'm not quite sure why some people have such a difficult time seeing this.

I can blame it on the books but I don't dare; I DO blame it on the scare tactics that have risen in recent years.  When you've fallen in love with a home take care of the necessities with your Realtor....and THEN call in a Feng Shui Consultant who can help you make inexpensive and easy changes to support you in every way.  After all, how many times do you fall in love in one lifetime?

Carole, I love that song. Gee, we don't have feng shui consultants here that I know of. I've heard of Realtors that have read on it. I learn so much from you, hope your feeling well.

I don't know of any Feng Shui consultants around here either...there probably are in Boston though...NH is just getting used to staging!

Carole... Still waiting to fall in love... oh, wait...  we are talking about houses, right?  I agree...  and I am still learning about your type of work that you do. Thanks for all that you share.

I haven't heard of any Feng Shui consultants in the Toledo area, but if you'd like to move here I can show you some beautiful waterfront property.  ;)

Carole - I love that song, how sweet and peaceful!  I can definately see where Feng Shui could be helpful when searching for a house, and especially after.  I wonder, is there good luck things to do with Feng Shui when having a house listed?

I would enjoy spending a couple of days with you, tagging along so to speak, to hear and see first hand what you do.   I know I would be absolutely fascinated!

Hi Carole ~~ I loved the video!  It illustrates your point very well.  When you are sure that this house is "the one" then the energies align:  yours and that of the home.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but there probably isn't the "perfect" house (in terms of Feng Shui principles), especially an existing construction, so there are always a few changes that can be made to improve chi.

Great post!

Carole--Great post to add some sanity to the Feng Shui phenonomena! If I had a buyer who had looked at dozens of homes and then found one that was perfect but along with the inspector needed to have a Feng Shui expert add a seal of approval, I would be very concerned about the client. Sure there are some bad houses out there but few fall in love with one that has really bad Feng Shui. Your consultation would be much more valuable just prior to moving in...Assisting with colors and furniture placement to enhance the lovely home...As you say, how many times do you fall in love?

Hello Carole,
I have learned so much from you about Fenj Shui but like Missy, we do not have any consultants in our area.  What a wonderful service you provide for your clients.

Missy, If they're not there yet, believe me they will be coming!  Find positive practitioners who won't discourage your sales.

Joan, Ditto.  Actually Feng Shui was known here before staging....and I believe you've got a few in your State.  It won't be all that long before they are brought in like Home Inspectors :)

Jeff, I loved that song, houses, people....it just came to mind when I was writing.  Thanks for all YOU share, I am finally competant (somewhat) to discuss some Mortgage knowledge--and proud of it!

Carol, I'm sure the properties are gorgeous.  I can't believe they are not all over yet....but I can tell you they're on their way :)  With well over a hundred just in New York City and Long Island, we're flooded right now!

Candy, There are so many things to do with a home that I suggest for the Realtors I work with...and the Stagers that make a home sell faster.  It's a great question and I have more then a few Realtors that always use the methods, both here and in other States that I have worked with.

Kris, I would love to have you!  I have had several people write in testimonials that they've learned more from me in three hours then all the books they've read....And you'll start looking at things thru Feng Shui Eyes.

Marzena, You're right, there most usually isn't the "perfect" house...many consultants don't take in to the fact that a person's CHI is stronger then Feng Shui and changes don't have to be expensive OR time consuming.  If they love a house, they shouldn't lose out, we can always make minor changes and blessings.

Teri, Unfortunately some practitioners will find issues with a home and discourage a sale simply because they don't know how to address them.  Feng Shui had to retain it's Principles while adapting to a Western World---or there would be a lot of discouraged home owners and Realtors out there.

Cynthia, I'm almost sure you do have them in your area....you have a lot of transplanted New Yorkers :)  There are websites and directories to go on but be advised:  You do not have to have any credentials at all to call yourself a Feng Shui Consultant.

Carole, I think New York is ahead of the rest of the country with the Feng Shui consultants. Our area is mainly just starting to embrace Stagers more fully. Unless of course, like the others I haven't discovered them yet.

03/31/2008 06:41 PM by Gary Woltal - REALTOR® Dallas Ft. Worth (Keller Williams Realty)

Gary, I have to go up and do a search on Feng Shui Consultants in the US.  It can't be that only California, Florida and New York have them (can it??).  We have over a hundred here and more graduating every day....

I really love your posts Carole!  Wish I had you to consult with when I was designing my house!
