Tax Rate WILL NOT increase this year in Clear Creek ISD

Well the title says it all and this is great news for anyone paying school taxes in Clear Creek ISD. This is interesting news because in May 2013, voters approved CCISD's $367 million bond project which called for a gradual tax rate increase over the course of three years.

The bond package that was voted on and approved funds upgrades to facilities, security and technology. Projects include a major rebuild of Clear Lake High School, a rebuild/completion of Clear Creek High School and a rebuild of McWhirter Elementary.

The great news is that the total tax rate will be significantly less than the district projected at the time of voting. The total tax rate increase may be closer to 4 cents versus the voter-approved 11 cents.

Clear Creek school district will be holding a public district meeting Aug.18 to discuss the propssed tax rate and budget. This is a great time for the public to ask questions, bring up concerns and learn more about where their tax money is going.
