First signs of Spring Inspiration and Positive Views in East Goshen

You all know the song "Love is in the Air".  Well, since I was down with a cold yesterday and three different possible buyer appointments didn't pan out, I decided to get some much needed sunshine and work outside getting my garden ready.  so, I was humming that tune but thinking... "spring is in the air"!  I love to be outside, I love flowers, and I really love my garden.  Here are pictures of the first signs of spring waking up in my backyard garden.  Having grown up in the city of Philadelphia, unless you counted the fig tree my father tried heroically to grow every year in our little concrete backyard, I didn't have much experience with flowers.  I bought books and watched my neighbors, bugged anyone who would answer me with a zillion questions and have grown to love making the garden beautiful.  Happy Spring!

Okay, this might not look like much, but I took this picture a week or so ago and it was the only flower blooming in my yard.  It's the first spring 2008 crocus and while it's obvious I could use a mulch delivery, isn't it beautiful?

first daffodils to openThese are the first daffodils to open this spring.  I took this picture just a few minutes ago.  Wow.  Nature is truly a gift from God.  My forsythias aren't really in full bloom yet, but you can see the promise in the picture below.

I got two cuttings of these from my good friend Denise's garden and I really have no idea what they are.  They bloom around now and then the flowers do stay around, but get like dried flowers.  The foliage is very pretty all through the summer.

Last but not least, these little cute things!tiny daffodils

That is amazing, here in MI we still have a little snow on the ground in areas, definitly no flowers blooming (went by the nursery the other day and they aren't even open). However today when I looked out the back windows I noticed 6 ducks in the pond that was frozen just 2 days ago :-D

Your West Chester PA spring flowers are a few weeks ahead of their Orange County New York cousins. We are just starting to see the greens of our early perennials emerging. Our blooms should start showing any day now.

Thanks for the photos.  We are just starting here and it is warm one day and snowing the next.  Gives us hope though.
