Maple Lake is THE PLACE TO BE This Weekend! Gear-Heads and Pilots Delight!
Well, I will be here for sure. Let’s start off with the Gear-Head Get Together sponsored by the Maple Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Ger-Head Get Together Committee which will be held on Saturday, August 16th in downtown Maple Lake.
The family-oriented day will include a swap meet (flea market) (no household items), live entertainment featuring the White Sidewalls, Bondo Bob, the Squid Wheelies motorbike stunt team along with numerous food and beverage vendors throughout the town.
It’s all FREE to participants and spectators. No trophies, plaques or prizes, just a time for anyone interested in old cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors and motors to gather, display their items and socialize. What’s not to like about that?

Fly-in and Pork Chop Dinner that will be held the same day at the Maple Lake Airport. This event is being hosted by members of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 878. This is the 28th year of the event. They will be serving the dinner from 11:30 am to 2 pm.
Also this year, a new event will be an indoor craft show featured unique and unusual handcrafted items from selected vendors from 10 am to 3 pm.
And, no, I wasn’t asked to display.
Well, that is enough to keep one busy for most of Saturday. Sorry about that Honey-Do list, dear. Between this and my projects, I will be spinning!
