When in Dallas, I recommend a visit to the George W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum. The exhibits are a part of history. There's even a simulated Oval Office where you can sit behind the desk and have your picture taken. The museum is located at 2943 SMU Blvd., Dallas 75205 (214) 346-1650.
The Medal of Honor is the nation's highest award that can be bestowed upon a member of the Armed Services. It honors both living and deceased who have demonstrated gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Since its creation in 1861, the Medal of Honor has been awarded to more than 3,400 Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to national security, world peace, or culture.
Created by Harry S. Truman in 1945, the medal is the highest civilian honor the U.S. government can bestow.
Seeing all these faces inside this flag gave me a sense of awe. So many people have come to America for freedom's sake. Many have served.
Let us never forget how United we Stood and how
grateful we are for our Military Soldiers.
