AR Gathering & BBQ April 12, 2008 Pomarosa RV Park Bandera, Texas
Here we are! Now how do you get here? that's the question Jem Woods asked me. So I thought I'd give detailed directions. We want your drive to be as quick and pleasant as possible.
Of course it depends upon which direction you are coming from. If you are coming from the Marble Falls area like Jem, just hop on Hwy 281 and come to San Antonio. Take Loop 1604 west (turn right) and go to Hwy 16. Turn right (West) again and 40 minutes later you will see THE POMAROSA RV PARK on your right! It is near the Polly Peak intersection before you get into Bandera.
If you want a more scenic trip, take Hwy 281 to Johnson City and then go west on Hwy 290 to Fredericksburg. (Don't stop to shop though, you might miss the BBQ :) ) From downtown Fredericksburg turn left on Hwy 16 and go to Kerrville. Hwy 16 is very scenic from Kerrville to Bandera (twisting roads with low water crossings that will take you a while to drive). You can turn off Hwy 16 in Kerrville onto Hwy 173 and it will take you to Bandera in about 20 minutes. When you come to Bandera, stay on Hwy 173 until you come to the intersection of 173 and 16 turn left. That will take you to The Pomarosa in about 5 minutes. We will be on the left if you are coming this way.
Coming from Houston? Take I-10 to San Antonio and then get on Loop 1604 and follow it around to Hwy 16 that goes to Bandera. Again, it is about 40 minutes from San Antonio to The Pomarosa. It will be on the right side of the road.
Coming from Austin? Take I-35 to San Antonio and get on Loop 1604 , to Hwy 16 to Bandera and the Pomarosa. It's an easy drive.
Coming from College Station? Get your map out. There are several ways to come depending on how much you mind or don't mind the traffic in Austin or San Antonio. Hwy 6 to Hwy 290 or Hwy 79 to I-35 are some options you have.
Coming from Dallas/Ft.Worth? Take either I-35 or detour to reach Hwy 281 for a drive not nearly as crowded and just as fast.
Coming from Lake Livingston? We can't wait to see you. Hwy 59 to I-10 or maybe go to Huntsville and then to Brenham. I've taken that way a few times myself.
Coming from Corpus Christi? It's an easy drive from I-37 to Loop 1604 in San Antonio and then to Hwy 16 to Bandera and The Pomarosa.
Coming from Georgetown? You can go through Austin or take Hwy 29 over to Burnet and catch Hwy 281 like Jem Woods. Maybe you'll even see him on the road.
We can't wait to see all you Active Rainers! Be careful on the road and don't speed. We'll wait on you to get there. It wouldn't the same without you. There are many more that are coming and if I didn't use your picture, don't feel left out. If I did use your photo and you prefer I don't use it, please let me know. Otherwise, thanks!
WE HAVE ROOM for more people so if you have not made reservations yet, COME ON and give us a call or email. Don't miss out on the fun. How often do you have a business meeting that would be as much fun as this with people you have always wanted to meet?
If you get lost, don't worry. I'll be on my cell phone and so will Judi to help you make the right turns to get here safe and sound. Just give us a call. Write our phone numbers down and keep them handy. We'll see you Saturday, April 12th at the Pomarosa RV Park , 3845 Hwy 16 South in Bandera. http://www.pomarosa.com/

Cheri Lynn Venditti and Carl Winters will be helping to make you welcome and help you find a place to park your car. Judi and I will be setting tables and hiding the desserts from Carl, no doubt :). Our wonderful spouses will be helping out too. The BBQ will be cooking slowly over a fire outside the rec hall and the fun will begin. Can you hear that Cowboy Music? It's just a CD. Unless one of you want to bring your geetar :) That would be so nice.
SEE YOU SOON!
