In 2007 the total number of units closed in the Town of Amenia was 20. From the beginning of 2008 until today March 30th only 1 single family detached property closed. It was listed at $1,150,000 and sold for $975,000. Although the season started off slow as of this date there are 2 pending sales and 3 accepted offers which is a good sign that it is still possible to make or exceed the sale of 20 units this year.

There are also 41 single family detached properties available for sale, ranging from $58,000 to $8,500,000, I guess you could say there is a property to fit all pocket books.

If you are planing to purchase a home in the Amenia area and you want to find out more about the zoning or request special permits you will be able to get lots of information online since the Town of Amenia has posted great resources on their website.

Bill -Thanks for commenting, What did you mean by tight? I could answer this several ways.

Eugene - This would be a great area to visit. If you are into golfing Silo Ridge is a great course. There is also a great rail trail in the area. Located less than 90 miles to the city, and the area is served by metro-north.

Joe - It is interesting to see what is happening in different areas of the county.

Derrick - That is true, you can get a mobile home or a beautiful country estate.

Kim - i agree more potential buyers have entered the market they are just taking more time to make a decision.
