Yeah the M's won their Season Opener in Seattle today! My plans to go to game were interrupted so I didn't get any photos for you - but my nephew got our tickets (poor kid) to the SOLD OUT game and I'm sure he didn't have a problem finding a few college buddies to join him. They went a few hours early to make a day of celebrating.
I didn't have to miss the game entirely though - tuned in from the couch instead of live - word is that parking was up to 40.00 by this afternoon (YUK)- see there is always something to be thankful for!
Between the hail and the rain yesterday - A Blue Seattle Area Skyline - Cheers!
MONDAY - Is Opening Day in Seattle for Mariner Baseball at Safeco Field- We're hoping for some sunshine on the field for the team and the fans. I'll try to get some photos to share with you here at the rain. Official MLB Site for the M's on the internet below: http://seattle.mariners.mlb.com/index.jsp?c_id=sea
Happy Opening Day from another baseball junkie. The Marlins Opening Day is today. I'm getting ready to head up now. I tell all my clients every year I'll have my cell phone but "I'm going to the ballpark!!!". Have fun.
Gary - fellow baseball junkie (grin) for you go Marlins...! I like baseball but gotta tell you I love watching my nephews on the field as much as MLB. Three Cheers for B'Ball!
Frank- you've adopted the Cubs then - so for you...Go Cubs. It would seem strange without a MLB Team in Seattle but it looks like we may be without NBA soon "SuperSonics" :( so I feel your pain
Mike - I take it you're a fan and I like your comment 'cause you're right it's anybody's game and soooo many games until the end of the season...Cheers!
Hi Theresa..I am so excited about the start of the season. And the Mets won! Hope the Mariners have a good season and beat up on the Yankees! Lets Go Mets!
Hi Cathy - Yeah your Mets Won! and so did the M's - whew though the bats didn't get lively till later in the game - very happy they got a season opener Win! I love it!
I'm such a big baseball fan- and so are my daughters... we went to the game a couple weeks ago and got a chance to see Randy Johnson land at number two on the strike-outs list. So much about baseball is *being there* but ... if you're also listening on the radio... well- that's the sign of a die-hard fan! :-)
That is die-hard Chuck - but with the way this season is playing out for the M's - the thought of it in stereo ? the word that comes to mind is - torturous. Very cool you got to see Randy Johnson in action, now that's a guy I miss! :)
Our D-Backs started strong but now... well... not so much. My cousin is with the Dodger's farm team. I'd love to see him make it to the bigs. I'm ready to see what the second half of the season goes.
Well Chuck I don't need to tell you about high hopes then - but win or lose - we love 'em! :)
That would be so fun to see your cousin in the Big League - he's right there, any minute it can happen!
My nephew's are all about baseball - the older one's a - 2007 NWAACC First Team All Star and ALL ACADEMIC Baseball Team - community collegeball - he's heading for the Islands this fall and I'm looking for him to play ball while he's there (I'll keep you posted)
His buddy from high school has been in the draft a few times - 9th round this year but not sure what will come of that yet. I love it when good things come to those who work hard at their sport! It takes a lot of devotion to the game.
Do keep me posted on your cousin and I'll be sending good thoughts his way!
