It's easy to get caught up in everyday tasks and forget to take a step back to evaluate how well your business system is working.  Especially marketing.

A good place to start is to ask yourself how much is your time worth?  Are you participating in activities in your business that you could or SHOULD be outsourcing to someone else?

If you're a Real Estate Agent and you're taking photos of your newest half-million dollar listing with a small compact camera, are you making the best use of your time?  Could you be farming for your next client instead?  If so, consider contacting your local full service virtual tour provider.  My virtual tour company has full service dealers all across the country and even around the world.

Speaking of taking a step back, I just read a great post that reminded me I don't need to take myself too seriously.  Especially in sales and marketing.  I find that if I keep in mind that marketing is a process I don't take rejection personally and I'm able to keep working when others have thrown in the towel. Check it out.

Brett, so true - I need to step back from the tasks that someone else can do. Thanks for the recommendation.

Although I agree with you 99%, I still find it feels like somebody jabbed a shiv in my side when they tell me "I don't like (insert shot here) because of (insert reason here)." It's difficult to not take it personal, but you have to just get it fixed, and move on. Great post.

Great Post Brett,

I'm fine tuning my marketing system as well and it gets a little frustrating at times.   I can't be everywhere so I have to learn to let go and let someones else do it.

Brett,

It seems like a constant battle fine tuning your market plan especially when you really don't have the time or knowledge to create one. Knowing what makes people buy is probably the most impossible task for most of us.
