Hyperlapse from Instagram - Helps Make Your Crappy Videos Look Good

Instagram introduced a new stand alone smart phone app today called Hyperlapse. This is a great app that allows you to stabilize videos created on your iPhone or iPad. Using time-lapse and some tasty algorithms, this app makes your crappy videos look good!

For real estate agents, this could be a great way to help with your home tours, community videos and any type of driving videos. Whether you are walking around a house or driving around a neighborhood, Hyperlapse makes everything look better. Currently the app is only available for Apple iOS.

We loved that even though Instagram (Facebook) created the app, you don't have to have an Instagram account to create videos. However, if you do have an account, it is very easy to share videos to that platform.

Once we saw the demo video above, we couldn't wait to get our hands on this app and walked outside of the office to give it a test. See below for our first Hyperlapse video.

After you create the video, you can save it to your devices Camera Roll. That way you can share it with anyone that you choose. The only option you have after shooting video is the speed of the time-lapse.

We love it when we find FREE tools that help us in real estate. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it makes us smile.

Margaret - For real estate I can think of two quick uses. When doing walk thru videos of the home of community drive thru videos just sent the Hyperlapse at 1x. Then it will smooth out your vidoes but keep the speed the same.

Crappy videos... more than just removing the shakes, tremors and going in, some thought needed to make the video experience worthwhile. Too big a hurry happening... no time thought out going in, during, the exit? That you can not fix with software treatment, touch up.

I've goofed around with it a bit, and find it to be pretty fun tool. Can be pretty funny as well, as I did a hyperlapse of my daughter feeding our dogs, and with the speed up option it made it appear the dogs would take of as fast as the tail was moving.

Used it while driving through a neighborhood and thought it looked good as well. I was wondering though if it can be further edited, especially add some music or voice over. Jimmy, any input?

Just found my answer, Hyperlapse is ONLY available for IOS devices, so apple..........bummer. Hope it can be done soon on pc's, and using your traditional video recorders.
