Celebrate with your community to boost your sales

By
Home Stager with Arkansas Staging Professionals

I, for one, am tired of all the negative press the housing market is receiving. And right here, in Searcy, our market is actually improving rather than deteriorating. But our community doesn't realize it! Imagine how much more business we could drum up and how much we can influence our housing market (and Searcy's economy in general for that matter) if we came together to start spreading the enthusiasm about our city.

This is a call for real estate professionals, business owners, investors and city leaders to throw a festivity to celebrate all that Searcy has to offer. And lets get everyone in town to attend so we can get them excited about how stable our housing market is. Let's boost their morale and our sales at the same time! I will coordinate the efforts if I can just get enough leaders on board.

Maybe at the same time, we could host a city-wide open house! I'll contact Main Street Searcy and see what suggestions they may have.

Imagine a day full of sidewalk sales, open houses, people meeting their business owners and city officials, and booths with refreshments sponsored by local leaders and businesses.

From fantastic shopping, to home improvement services, charitable organizations, health care, every level of educational resources and recreational abundances. Searcy has so much to offer! Lets get more of our community members excited about where they live and watch how it blossoms into more benefits for everyone in town.

I thoroughly agree with everything that you said. City involvement is vital. We are members of the Merced County Trade Club, Chamber of Commerce, BBB, among many others. I enjoyed your positivity. It is so refreshing. I tell my people dont read the papers, dont watch television, just go to work. Thanks, Keith

Hi Angela,

Like you, I also believe enthusiasm is contageous, just as is pessimism.  One of the things that is hurting our industry so much is all the negative media coverage about the market slow-down.  It is like a snowball that started out small and has just kept on rolling until it's just massive now.  The mortgage crises was the start of it, at least in part. So stayiing positive and trying to generate excitement and optimism is the best way to fight the down-turn.  I commend you for your efforts.  Glad to hear business is picking up in Searcy.  My husband and I own a vacation home in Heber Springs, not far from Searcy.  Would love to see the values continue to rise.  Many thanks and Happy Blogging!!

Building this type of "social capital" can really have a huge positive effect on a community. I read the book "Bowling Alone" by Robert Putnam - and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in community building.

Good post! I have been preaching that to other Realtors and hope it grabs on soon.  A Searcy Open House is a great idea!
