A couple of times a year, we mountain folks have our Mountain GARAGE SALE WEEKEND (including yard sales) in Lake Arrowhead & other mountain communities; the first is Memorial Weekend, which also marks the "real" start of our summer season. Then, as we prepare to bring summer to a close, we have another GARAGE SALE WEEKEND on Labor Day Weekend. These two big holidays are a fantastic way to recycle old junk treasures, or to pick up some new ones. Note: There are MANY more throughout spring and summer.
Many mountain home owners who may have sold their cabins, need to get rid of furniture, dishes & other household things that they no longer need or want. Garage Sales are perfect for this.
New mountain homeowners may need to buy furniture & snow shovels, to name a few items, for their new digs. This is a perfect and inexpensive way to pick those things. Recycling, I call it.
The Mountain News newspaper always does a great job mapping out the Garage Sales/Yard Sales, so you'll want to pick up a copy and plan your "adventure."
