Singer Island is Palm Beach County's tropical island resort located just 65 miles north of Miami and 160 miles from Orlando. Founded by sewing machine magnate Paris Singer, this beautiful island is a favorite destination for not just vacationing, but a wonderful place to call home.

Singer Island is famous for its wide sandy beaches and warm Gulf Stream waters. Just a few minutes away from PGA National and other major golf courses, downtown West Palm Beach and the world famous Worth Avenue shopping district on Palm Beach, this community is fast becoming a one of south Florida's hottest places to live.

Simply relax in the sun or enjoy the adventures of scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, and windsurfing, jet skiing, boating and bicycling. Singer Island is renowned for its blue water sport fishing. Here both locals and visitors experience the thrill of catching trophy sailfish, marlin, wahoo and dolphin. Also, a variety of angling challenges can be found at the Island's docks, jetties, bridges and shorelines. As the sunset drifts into nightfall, choose from a wide variety of fine restaurants before dancing the night away at the many popular night spots.

Palm Beach Shores, FL, population 1,269 is located within Singer Island in Florida's Palm Beach County. Through the 90's Palm Beach Shores’ population has grown by about 22%. It is estimated that in recent years Palm Beach Shores’ population has been growing at an annual rate of 4.2 percent. The Town of Palm Beach Shores is primarily a residential community, although several new hotels signal the evolution of the town as a vacation destination. Residents of Palm Beach Shores have a history for protecting the natural environment of their waterfronts while volunteering to beautify their community. Palm Beach Shores strives to retain a small, beach-town feel while keeping current with modern life.

For more family fun, explore the 79 acre Peanut Island County Park which boasts a 19 slip boat dock, 40 grills, 60 picnic tables, 6 pavilions 20 campsites and a 170' fishing pier.

Peanut Island is the obvious choice for the Palm Beach County’s top boating destination. It has a dock, anchorage, designated swimming area, snorkeling, sandbars, picnic areas, restrooms, showers, camping, footpath, museum and presidential nuclear bomb shelter. On an incoming tide the nearby Lake Worth Inlet floods the area with crystal clear blue water. Nearby are the famous homes of Palm Beach and the large ships at the Port Of Palm Beach. Peanut Island is manmade. It got its name from a peanut oil shipping terminal that at one time was to be built there. The county has done an excellent job turning Peanut Island from a scrappy hangout into a beautiful and enjoyable place for everyone. The facilities are second to none. The main facilities are located on Peanut Island’s east side. This is just across the channel from Sailfish Marina. The island’s dock, restrooms, public phone, drinking fountains, picnic area and developed campground are all located here. All of the dock spaces are free and open for day use by the public. They’re “first come, first serve.” Overnight the dock can only be used by people using the paid campsites. The paid campsites are wonderful they’re available through the county.

This area is home to the old Coast Guard station (located here for decades before morning to Lake Park.). The New England style building is now occupied by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. It operated as a Coast Guard station from 1936-1995. The station moved to shore at nearby Lake Park. Next door is the Palm Beach Maritime Museum and the Kennedy-era nuclear bomb shelter (built for the President whose family compound was on nearby Palm Beach.) Palm Beach Maritime Museum: (Palm Beach) The Palm Beach Maritime Museum (PBMM) emphasizes maritime topics of Florida and the Caribbean Basin through a variety of educational programs, collections and interactive exhibits. The Museum is located in the historic Coast Guard buildings, docks, and President Kennedy Bunker on Peanut Island as well as in a "preview" building in Currie Park in West Palm Beach.
