A CLIENT ADVOCATE ~ ITS OUR JOB!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Beam & Branch Realty TREC #547752

The other day one of my client's asked me if I would contact the new home sales person to discuss a particular concern that they had.  "Of course" I said.  "I am your advocate in this transaction!"  "I work for YOU!".

After hanging up, I wondered to myself if perhaps I have not fully explained to all of my clients this concept of what it means to be represented by a licensed real estate agent?   When I am hired to represent someone in a real estate transaction, I am their ADVOCATE!  So really what is the definition of an advocate?

ad·vo·cate

noun

ˈadvəkit/
  1. 1.
a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause or policy.

Those synonyms are some strong words!  A champion!  Upholder!  Supporter!  Fighter!  Why yes, as your real estate representative I am those things for you!  That is why you are hiring a trusted agent!

Allow me to be your ADVOCATE in your next real estate transaction!  Who doesn't want someone in their corner defending the cause?  You are never alone in the rocky waters of real estate.

I am looking forward to working with you, representing you and yes, being a trusted advocate!

Paula,  Not all agents are advocates for their clients.  We know this to be true because we see what happens in transactions. It is so vitally important that home buyers and sellers choose an agent that is truly an advocate - an agent who will fight the fight and do the right thing ... no matter what.

Terminology or laws may change but the reality is, we work for the transaction, we work for fairness, and we work by law. In my 25 years that is what i found the public believes.

Yes, we are that and more. Consumers should be aware of the benefits of hiring a Realtor to be their Advocate/Fighter/Supporter and Upholder ~Nicely done!

I can see that this word should become part of my seller listing vocabulary.  And, for buyers as well.  Wonderfully put, Paula!

This is an important topic. Many home buyers do not fully understand the process and the benefits of having an advocate as a buyer agent.

Great word isn't it? I agree, it's a perfect way to describe what our role is with clients. You are a great agent, Paula, and your clients are lucky to have you as an advocate.

You most likely explained it very well, but if someone has average or below listening skills, somethings just will go over their head. Somethings just need to be explained over and over.

Thank you for commenting on my post.

Paula

I work in the new home industry as part of my business . . . .  and I find it common that new home buyers want to work with a real estate professional when they buyer a new home.

Good luck and success.
