Hi Bette, The first rule of thumb when moving, is to have toilet paper at both places, with wash cloths, soap and running water.

Great list Bette but may I add paper towels and toilet paper? Throwing in a couple of light bulbs and bottled water may help too.

That is a good list. Sometimes I have to remind myself that while the transaction maybe smooth, there is turmoil for both sides of the transaction. What to throw away? The loss of memories and so on.

Great list Bette, there are so many things to think about on both ends of the move. I would add some coloring books, crayons, sidewalk chalk for the kids.

Bette, this is a great list.  I think of cleaning supplies, toilet paper and stuff like that, but tools are just as important!

Debbie, My thought was most people would remember TP and water (essentials), but light bulbs is something many will forget.

Everyone, thanks for your comments.  What I hear from most buyers is they forget the "tools," not so much the "essentials."  Often, those with children seem to forget about items to keep them entertained, but often empty boxes fill in the void.

This is a good list for families on the move. I also like Debbie's suggestions.
