Toast Cafe Coming to Mooresville

Toast Cafe will open its first restaurant in Mooresville this fall.

The gourmet breakfast eatery has signed a lease for a roughly 4,000-square-foot location in Mooresville Town Square.

The site was attractive because of the market demographics and volume of people, says Robert Maynard, founder and chief executive. The new location also will help reduce pressure on Toast’s Davidson restaurant, he adds.

“We’re going to bring a lot of energy to that (Mooresville) center,” says Robert Maynard, founder and chief executive.

The franchise will be owned by Chuck and Stacy White of Huntersville.

The eatery is slated to open by November.

Toast Cafe has been carving out a niche with its gourmet breakfast offerings since 2005.

Its menu includes fare such as a choice of eggs – prepared in numerous ways, from eggs Benedict to made-to-order options — omelets, stuffed French toast and flapjacks as well as sandwiches, salads and burgers.

The restaurant has relied on its fresh, organic ingredients to keep quality high, but it also makes service a priority, Maynard says. That has gained it a loyal following, while providing an opportunity to grow the restaurant chain, he adds.

The Mooresville space will feature Toast’s new decor, which Maynard describes as “farm chic.” It will bring together earth tones with a touch of Tiffany blue. A fireplace will be situated in the heart of the restaurant. Pallets will be used to create a more rustic bar, and sliding barn doors will help section off the dining space.

“It’s going to be more of a upscale look than we have now,” Maynard says.

The restaurant will seat up to 125, with patio space to accommodate about 50.

Toast operates locations in Davidson, Dilworth, Ballantyne and Tega Cay in the Charlotte region. Maynard adds that he has a handful of leases under consideration in the greater Charlotte area.

Josh Beaver of The Nichols Co. represented the landlord. Steve Mitchener of Lat Purser & Associates represented Toast.

“We’re all thrilled to have them join the lineup,” Beaver says.
