Curb Appeal Recommendations in Halton - Call Cole House Design today!

Home Stager with Cole House Design

Cole House Design was just reading Pam Faulkner's blog: "Does the Addams Family Live Next Door to Your Staged Home?".  It made me laugh and reminded me of this home:

next door

This photo was taken at the end of March, and yes that's a Christmas tree sitting haphazardly in the urn.  Christmas lights are still strung around the tree and the front of the house.  Newspapers are piled up on the front porch.  The driveway has a huge pothole in it.  The garage doors have paint peeling off of them.

This home obviously has NO curb appeal, and this is how you DON'T want your house to look when placing a for sale sign on the front lawn.  However, this home is NOT for sale...if it was it would likely be considered a fixer-upper by potential buyers.

Cole House Design recommends that before listing your home, make sure that both your front and back yards look well maintained.  Many potential buyers will drive by a house that they are interested in, before they attend an open house or viewing.  Will your curb appeal stand up?  Have an urn or planter full of seasonal flowers on the front step for an added bit of colour and to draw buyers in.  Make sure your garage and front doors are painted and in good condition.   If you have shrubs or trees in your yard, give them a trim to allow buyers to see your house better from the street.  Let potential buyers know that your house is well cared for, inside and OUT!

When in need of home staging recommendations from your front curb to the back yard...

call Cole House Design!   We provide you with the ingredients to sell!

Thanks for reading!

Nicole,

I can relate!  There is a house diagonally across from us that we always joke about, guessing when they will remove holiday decorations.  The record so far is April.  I have contemplated going over when no one is home and taking down the wreath on the door!  Hopefully they would get the hint, but I chickened out.  Oh well.

Granted, I take down items from each holiday the next morning, and put up the next season's decor, but I'm an organizing freak!

Thanks for your post,

Patty

Nicole ~ I am so sorry that you have to deal with that!  I don't think there is anything you can do unless you put up a fence or bushes to block out the view.  Well, at least they'll be ready for this Christmas - it is only 9 months away you know! ; )

Doesn't your city have rules as to the height of the lawn?

Our cities have strict rules and if they are not adhered to the city cuts the lawn and bills the owners on their taxes.

Are these people in their right mind?  elderly?  or just lazy?

Sometimes a neighbor just needs a little hand to get caught up and maybe get some pride

I feel for you
