Picking Up the Phone.....

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty First Atlanta

So in our office we have been running a "March Madness" Competition. We are basically tracking things to do with productivity such as calling people. I started calling some people one day. I called and called and called..... made 76 phone calls in one day, had 6 conversations with no luck and left lots of messages..... FRUSTRATION, right???? Most would think I am never doing this again! Right....

Well, the next day I get into work and lo and behold I have a voice mail from one of the messages I had left. It was a small local builder. We spoke for a while on the phone and he asked me to look at some of his listings and tell him what I thought.

Keith and I quickly pulled up the listings he asked me to look at and away we went. Some we thought were priced to high and some were priced well. We met him the next day for lunch and told him our opinions. We didnt sugar coat it. We told him that in the one price point he was currently helping to sell his competition. He appreciated our honesty and then gave us 14 listings with prices that we thought would sell.

In one week we already have 3 potential sales.

76 phone calls, 6 conversations, 70 messages - 14 listings, 3 potential sales..... not bad for a week.

So for all of you out there thinking it is too hard... maybe you are right.... maybe you should find something easier.... or maybe you should try the next phone call.... you just never know who it is going to be....

I hope this inspires some of you. You can do it. I know you can!

I made my 647,892 phone calls today, too (at least it seemed that way).  I didn't hit pay dirt, but am staying in the forefront of people's minds.  It's one of those things you just MUST do!  Good for you in landing those listings!  That's a WOW !

Jeez sounds nice. I needed to hear that. I am doing my 3 hour lead generation as of today and got a lot of answering machines, no's and 1 wrong email address. :-(. After reading this though I am uplifted. Thanks for the blog. ONE worn out Realtor today

Jackie - There are days that just feel like no one is every going to talk to you again. But hang in there. You are right, it is all about staying in the minds of people.

John - Keep doing the 3 hour lead generation - it will happen.

Go LEAD GENERATE TODAY!

I'm your Professional Real Estate Marketing VA!

This is a great post about perseverance!  I get frustrated a lot when dealing with potential clients who insist they are looking for a VA to start immediately.  I go through the trouble of getting all the information they ask for right away because of the urgency they convey.  Only to have them disappear after a week of constant communication.  When I finally reach them, I'm told they have decided to wait until after.... (fill in the blank here).  Very, very frustrating to say the least.  But, like you, I always try to encourage myself to keep on going because you just never know where that terrific client is going to come from!

Congratulations to you on 14 listings - that's nothing to shake your head at!

Good for you! Thank you for reminding me I should be making phone calls everyday regardless if they like it or not. I need to be calling EVERYONE just like you should be and WE ALL should be. Congratulations and I hope all your listings sell!
