I need help with my computer.

I have this ongoing problem with my computer. Every morning it takes about 10 on and then off tries to get my computer to stay on. What happens is it will display-video input not receiving a signal and then the screen goes black. Any comments as to what is going on? I've had this problem for about 6 months. One person switched out the on and off component that was original to my Dell. That had no effect.

I think it is a user error.  I am not sure, I would take it to a certified repair guy or let your IT guy take a look at it.  Remember what they say about free advice

I was an "old" I.T. guy.

If your monitor is displaying a no signal message then your  monitor is most likely fine.  Your video card (or most likely (if the PC is within a few years old) the on-board video is causing the problem.

But first . . .

Take a "peek" at the cable that goes from the monitor to the computer.  Many times, people forget to turn the little knobs on the connector and it eventually gets loose and causes a signal error.  Make sure the cable is securely inserted into the video connector. If the cable is fine, most likely, your issues is with the video in the PC itself.

Or . . . (since you didn't mention), if you are using a laptop, you'll have to take that in for service..

hope that helps.
