Dress for Success...is your appearance affecting your business?

Have you ever heard the phrase "man makes the clothes, clothes don't make the man" ? pretty interesting phrase when you really think about it.  It's actually somewhat true but you have to admit clothes, your vehicle, your hair style all contribute to your success.

As a man, it is important that I remain well groomed, clean cut and dressed for success...(this is not me by the way...)

I have to make sure that besides having a killer presentation for that home owner/buyer, I have to make sure that they see that I am here as a professional to complete the task at hand.

Now don't get me wrong, if you work near the ocean, then by all means put on your flip flops, shorts and go! just make sure that they are neat, clean and dressed sufficently for your market area.   but if you are trying to break into the Manhattan market, I don't think this     will cut it.  Hey, maybe you can market yourself as the "messy realtor"

Now I have to admit that there was a time when I didn't feel that the clothes, car or hair cut mattered...But I have learned that they do.  In order to be successul, you must first embody success.  You must manifest it, think it, feel it, be it and know it...but you also MUST look it!

Consider this; If you are looking to sell million dollar homes then there will likely be an expectation on how you present yourself.  If you don't show up intact you may not leave with that contract. (hey that rhymed)

Lets be real...people are very judgmental...they look you up and down and make an assessment on who you are by what you wear, drive and how you look (sad...i know) but it's reality.  So If you don't own a suit...go get one, if your car is old and beat up (I understand)...build your business, save your money and upgrade.  WE HAVE TO INVEST IN OURSELVES.  Remember we are all walking/talking advertisments for the CORP. that is us.  Make sure you are protecting your brand.

I hope no one gets all bent out of shape like I am trying to judge anyone or feel as if I am implying that if you change your attire your business will flourish.  We all know that is nonsense.  All I am saying is if you walked into a restaurant to eat and it looked like this  versus this would you still order? think about it!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL! MAY YOU SELL, SELL AND THEN SELL SOME MORE!!!
