Turning vacant into occupied, and "houses" into "homes"SM
Thank you to RICHIE ALAN NAGGAR AUTHOR PEARLS SERIES OF BOOKS for hosting this September contest, SCRATCH THE ITCH WITH RICH. Your continued involvement in the ActiveRain community is much appreciated- and both the young/new and the "seasoned" among us surely benefit from all of your contributions.
I started using Turning vacant into occupied, and "houses" into "homes"SM as a slogan or tagline in the early part of 2008. Thinking back to that time, I don't know that I ever really said "Dang- I think I need a tagline" or anything like that- but I do know that I was looking for ways to separate myself from the crowd. Though a number of sales-side Realtors had (and have) slogans, it wasn't at all common with individual agents on the property management side of things. I came up with the slogan in a minute or two- and it's proven to be very popular ever since.
I came up with Turning vacant into occupied, and "houses" into "homes"SM as an acknowledgement of the inherent difference between the two words. Simply put, a house is just a building until someone moves in and makes it a home.
Why should folks do business with me? Well, I'm a great guy! Just kidding- while that may or may not be true, some great reasons for folks to do business with me include:
- I'm always hustling, and my mind almost literally never stops thinking of how I might improve in areas where I may be weak, while marching forward with what I do well and sharing my knowledge with others so that they may do the same.
- I've always felt that following trends is important and setting trends is even better, so I try to stay up to speed on great things happening elsewhere in order to be the first in my area that's doing them. With things like FAQ videos that I've done, I remain the only one in the area with a decent library of them.
- I speak with every owner and do my best to ensure they feel their home is the only one I manage. If their property is on the market and vacant, it's going to be the next one I rent.
- I always remember folks' positions and what is owed to them, as well as what they should be able to expect from me. I work for my owners and with my tenants- and keeping that front of mind reinforces the fact that while I owe the fiduciary duty to my owners, nobody's making any money unless I work well with tenants and tenant prospects alike in my efforts to reduce vacancies.
It continues to be a great market around here, and things are booming. My broker bought the car seen above and had it wrapped with our stylish Total Realty Corp logo. We'll soon be opening an office in Sanford, Florida (our 6th)- and both myself and Total Realty Corp will be looking to conquer Seminole County, Turning vacant into occupied, and "houses" into "homes"SM.
