Since my 2nd month on Active Rain I have written my posts on 'Notepad' then cut and pasted them into my blog...Some write on their blog itself, others use 'Word' or other word processors then cut and paste them into their blog.
Today, I signed up for 'Google Docs'...an internet based program which many of my friends here on AR use and have recommended! It is free of course...and it enables me to begin a post at work and continue it at home or vice versa!
I will not burden my hard drive with gigabytes of stored drafts of old posts...and risk losing this information should either of my computers bite the dust!
I will update you and let you know how well it compares to what I have become accustomed!
If you want to read more about 'Google Docs', please click here!
For now, let me know how you post and what you use!
Robert,
After this happened to me a couple of times, I got the message!!! Thanks, Fran
Fran... I have always worked on mine right here on Active Rain. Maybe I should look at other options... this way I can start my ideas and complete them when ready.
Roland: Experiment with notepad, word, or Google docs!!!
Eugene: That works, except I'm fascinated with the 'internet based' aspect og Google Docs!!! :)
Thanks, Fran
Bill: You should post about it!!! :)
Gary: You do relinquish control in return for hard drive space...But I post from two computers at two locations, so internet base will give me total access and cenralization!!!
Thanks, Fran
Linda,
That's how I started out but after losing posts before they were ready to post...I gave up and switched to 'Notepad'!!! Thanks, Fran
Fran,
Thanks you for sharing that information about google docs. I will give it a try.
John Powers
John: Be sure to check back with your results!!!
Darleen: We're Google's nieces and nephews!!! :)
Chadd: Keep us posted!!!
Thanks, Fran
deVismes,
I think it's a great tool, but I'm not convinced it's the one to use for posting on AR!!! I haven't figured an easy way to 'paste' it into my blog!!! Thanks, Fran
P.S. One thing I do like about it is ease of making copies or printing out a post for brochures, etc. and ease of e-mailing...and it's great looking!
