Barndominium Home Living becoming popular, affordable, & economic

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Potranco Realty 492107

Barndominium's becoming popular, affordable, & economic for homeowners.

Barn Home Living styles feature bold timber frame interiors with exposed beams creating a unique environment that stands out from traditional home styles.

Barn Homes come in all styles and are being used for more than just horses and hay.

Using reclaimed historic barn frames as the “core” feature of a barn home gives a warm comfortable atmosphere, however their are many barn builders who design steel framed barns. Even if no barn exists on the land it is still possible to add an “old barn".

The word Barndominium meaning:

A non-traditional structure, the barndominium is a steel frame and sheet metal building, originally designed as a storage building or barn structure that has been repurposed by the addition of living areas to previously open space. This type of building is typically built on an existing property or multi-acre homesite and the structure often acts as a dual purpose living and shop or workspace.

Barndominium barn and condominium is a new type of building growing in popularity, especially in rural areas of the United States.

That is not something we would see up here so much as a Factorminium, a factory converted to residential housing

Some pretty cold designs.  Imagine how easy the lone ranger would have had it to live comfortably on the top of the barn and then cruise down to his trustworthy steed.

Bob ... Thanks for your interesting post about "Bardominium" living at Austin, TX.  I have heard about people living in barns at Colorado and Kansas that were previously used by farmers and ranchers - but never heard that term used.

Bob,

This is really cool and we can see how it's become so popular! We can understand how it can be popular in the rural areas with its southern home feeling!

Bob those barn houses might not look like much from the outside, but they are gorgeous on the inside.
