You are cordially invited to attend this important event, which will be held at Uptown Station in Ft. Walton Beach on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11, 2014.

This important first step—pouring the bell—is a credit to our community and its respect and appreciation for our veterans from all services and conflicts.

Hosted by Uptown Station, the commemorative bell will be poured by the Verdin Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. The organizers for this event have planned a ceremony that will be marked and remembered by all who attend and participate.

On Wednesday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m., the bell pouring will begin. Starting with those who served in WWII, veterans will be invited to participate in placing ingots of bronze in the furnace, after which the furnace is fired up to 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The molten bronze will be poured into the mold, and the site will be secured for the rest of the day.
