Thankful Thursday ~ Mystical rays of light
When we were traveling in Istanbul this summer we made sure we made time to visit the Hagia Sophia Museum which incorporates both Christian and Islamic influences and features today.
Sophia means Wisdom in Greek language. When the full name of Hagia Sophia is translated to English it means The Shrine of The Holy of God.
Because of the 40 windows in the area where the worshipers sit it’s famous for the reflecting mystical light.
Dorie it is a beautiful view. I am sure that it's more spectacular in person. Thanks for sharing.

Everyone I know, who has traveled to Turkey, talks about the wonders of Sophia Mosque. Your pictures are a testiment to the beauty. Don't you wish that Islamic and Christian cultures always harmonized so peacefully in reality as they do so wonderfully in that structure. The world would be a better place!
