Seniors & SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

 

The National Council on Aging is encouraging all of us to share this information with seniors who may need help with their cost of food. Millions of seniors could benefit if they simply would take advantage of the the benefits of SNAP.  Please share this information with the seniors in your circles of contacts. 

September is ‪HungerAction‬ Month. It’s estimated that 4 million seniors are missing out on nearly $4.5 billion in food benefits from SNAP. Why? Many simply don’t know about the program or are confused about how it works.

Roy, thank you for posting this very valuable information for seniors. I do volunteer work at a lunch program operated by our church every Thursday.  Most of those attending are seniors on very limited incomes.  I'm going on this website and printing out the information for them to pick up when they leave.  Thank you again!
