Get Ready for Some Opera - GVT Announces the MET: Live in HD for New Season
In partnership with The MET: Live in HD opera series, Greenbrier Valley Theatre announces The MET: Live in HD 2014-2015 Season.The first performance is Saturday, October 11.
Tickets for each simulcast are $18 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for children. Season tickets are also available. GVT will continue to offer acomplimentary lecture by Dr. James Caplinger from the University of Charleston 30 minutes prior to each transmission.

This season, The MET: Live in HD is reviving powerful performances of classic productions, such as, Adrian Noble’s chilling production of Verdi’s masterful adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth.

Also returning this season is the ever popular Carmen. Pablo Heras-Casado conducts Bizet’s irresistible score, which features one beloved and instantly recognizable melody after another.

The MET also introduces four new productions this season, including Gioacchino Rossini’s La Donna del Lago. Bel canto superstars Joyce DiDonato and Juan Diego Flórez join forces for a showcase of vocal virtuosity, set in the medieval Scottish highlands and based on a beloved novel by Sir Walter Scott.

- Rossini’s La Donna del Lago, March 14
- Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana & Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, April 25
