According to the Census Bureau, construction spending reached its highest point since 2008 in July. Even 
better news is the fact that economists expect that growth to continue. Private and public construction were both on the rise that month, with an increase of over 8 percent year-over-year to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $981.3 billion. Residential construction growth will help ease the low inventory of Maui homes and condos. The same is true of Oahu, which is basically in a housing shortage crisis.
