I know I heard that a red sky at night meant something for the next day: I just don't remember what. The northern lights may have come by in the last couple of nights but I didn't see them. The sunrise this morning was said to be beautiful too, but I missed that as well. Then but minutes ago I looked out and saw what I share with you here. I hope it bodes well for tomorrow.
I bet this is due to the solar flair. Heard it would be sending the northern lights futher down.

Sheila, Diana Zaccaro got it right. Apparently a red sky at night means the weather will be good but if the sky is red in the morning, then the weather will be bad enough that the seas will be rough during that day.

Others have already said the answer on red sky at night...but I don't always find that to be true. Lovely photo - sunrises and sunsets are so pretty, Mother Nature can really paint a picture.

Sheila, We lived in Ohio before moving to Florida. We were avid boaters up north but have not owned a boat since moving here, even though we have a dock in our back yard...go figure...
