Recycle Your Active Rain Points On Zillow!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Zillow

This morning Active Rain made the bold announcement that they were doing away with thier point system.  The change is going to go into effect late Thursday night/early Friday morning.

Now I know that there are many of you who have worked hard to accumulate the points you have, self included.  In fact, a number of us wear our point total like a badge of honor.

After reading about the new update to the system, I was upset.  I had worked hard for those points!  I wondered if there was a way to make sure our hard work carried on.  Suddenly, it came it me!  I made a call to Rich Barton and he happily agreed.

Starting immediately until Thursday night, April 3rd, 2008, you can exchange 10,000 points for increase of $1,000 to the Zestimate of your personal residence.  Simply submit your HUD and a screen shot of your Active Rain point summary page here and we'll happily make the updates to the site.

Hurry and get your information submitted, late entries will not be processed.  Don't let those hard earned points go to waste!

(UPDATE- Just so there isn't any confusion- This post was written on April 1st as an April Fool Day joke.)

Every once in awhile some of the female Rainers will mention the idea of exchanging points for shoes. That's never made sense to me, but here's something we can really use. Great idea, Sara!

sara - just noticed your pic. you are kind of hot for a saucy zillow rep. note the time, no april fool here, just an old guy that paused and saw your smile. where are these points recorded? can i group them with my left over s&h green stamps and old empty lucky strike packs for a modern iron lung or are they only good for those throw pillows you promote?

Well thank goodness those points won't end up going to waste. Will be right over to take advantage of the trade-in plan.

I hate zillow and I will never give up my points to them or anyone else. Their zestimates are not accurate so why would I give up my points to them...I know about the April fools joke but I still think their totally off in my market area...good concept but inaccurate.....and you can print that!

Neal-   WOW!  Thats a bit harsh. Tools like these just help to educate everyone. Is that really a bad thing? The way I look at it many real estate agents give an estimated market value that is completely off the mark too. We have to seperate our selves from them.

Sara, I don't need my Zestimate enhanced. I don't need to keep nup with the Jonses. In my neighborhood I am the Jonses.

Thanks anyway,

I'm behind on my reading and can't stop laughing, I'm sure there are some sellers out there who would love the points.  I was on Zillow the other night (which I love, don't tell anyone) and I read a homeowner's plea to change his z-estimate because it was to low and he can't sell his house...  He must not realize it is only an estimate.
