South Charlotte’s “big hole” could soon be developed, as the Harris Land Co. has filed a rezoning petition with the city to build a new development called Quail Hollow Village, featuring offices, retail, condos and a hotel.
The intersection of Park Road and Gleneagles Road has been fenced off for a decade, after Harris started and then aborted a project that would have been anchored by a Saks Fifth Avenue. That development would have had underground parking, and today the remnants of preliminary construction work exist with large craters on the 19-acre site.
