I live in a small town. When I vote I use a paper ballot and a pencil, not a computer. Last night there was a special meeting to vote on three articles having to do with erecting a cell phone tower. Notice of the meeting came by a mechanical call a couple of days before. In contrast, the actual meeting could have happened two hundred years ago. There was paperwork, vigorous discussion and then voting by holding up a piece of colored paper to signify your position, while a moderator counted. It was amazing. The meeting took about ninety minutes, and when I left I felt like I lived in a time a place that mattered.
Hello Sheila, Wow that is a different way to go about it. I am gald at least that people had a voice in it.

Sheila, wow! This sounds like something from one of my favorite movies, Doc Hollywood. What a wonderful way to do community business.

It's nice to have a voice & know people are listening to what a community has to say. Individual input is very important to every community, but in today's world doesn't often seem like it.

That is a cool experience; I would have felt like I had traveled in a time machine.

Good afternoon friends and thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments and offering your support: I really appreciate it.
Hello Will. It was so very different. The dialogue was very animated but majority ruled. No one was bashful, and it was just really neat to see and then participate in. Thank you.
Hi Pat. I never saw that film, but apparently I got to be a part of the real deal. It was so refreshing, and I am glad I live, where I live. Thank you.
Hello John. In my little corner of the world the magic that is real democracy exists and thrives. I didn't know it until last night but now I know and am really happy about it. Thank you.

Sheila, that's a very interesting and positive way of looking at things, we are so automated in today's society that we often lose the human touch.

Sheila, that would have been very interesting to just watch and I think exciting to participate in. I think it's great so many people came out to participate. Shows what a tight knit community it is.

Hello Amanda. I don't know if I would call my town, tight knit but it is special and unusual. Thank you. Sheila
I was President of the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS® last year and i work in Oklahoma City, a metro area of 1.3 million. This year's President is from a city of less than 35,000. She has been so helpful to me in reality testing when she reminds me that small town real estate has some differences. Small towns are where everybody knows your name.

Thank you Joe. You are right, different types of areas give you different insights. My town is less than 2000 people. Meanwhile I like your pup. Thank you. Sheila
The best part of the story is that you know the Election won't be rigged.
With today's Elections in large cities (like my city of Tallahassee), and of course the National Elections, you wonder if the people behind those Electronic Voting Machines are telling the truth about who really won the election.
