Prince Edward Co. is home to two institutions of higher education, Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney College. This weekend each institution will be hosting Family weekend and providing students and their loved ones with opportunities to get acquainted with local businesses and the Farmville, VA community.
Longwood University will be holding "Rock the Block" 2015 on Friday Sept. 18 at Midtown Square from 5:30pm till 9pm. This event will feature local businesses, entertainment, and a fireworks show to end the evening. Everyone is invited and encouraged to come to the event.
Hampden-Sydney College will be having events on Saturday October 3 starting at 9am that includes Farmville Community Expo that showcases local businesses and a variety of entertainment. There will be a family weekend picnic followed by the Hampden-Sydney football game at 1:00pm. Everyone is invited to come and cheer on the Tigers to Victory!!
