Fun group activities that involve each member of the family can sometimes be hard to come by and planning a getaway or vacation that offers activities for all ages isn’t always easy. In Park City, Utah there is much to see and do during any season of the year for kids, teenagers and adults which is why so many people frequent the area all year round. The Olympic Park in Park City is one of the area’s many attractions since it was first opened for the Olympic Games back in 2002. Though the winter Olympics are what inspired the park, there is plenty to do when the weather is warmer.

Regardless of athletic ability, Olympic Park’s “Extreme Zipline” is one of the steepest ziplines in the whole world with the zipline starting at the very edge of the K120 jump and gliding downward at 50 mph. Two ziplines can run side by side so that friends or family members can enjoy the experience at the same time while moving almost as quickly as the world-class Olympic ski jumpers do.

The Alpine Slide is a favorite among most guests who plan an afternoon at the Olympic Park. Suitable for all ages from 3 years old and up, this slide swiftly glides smoothly down the mountainside offering scenic views and full control for the riders over how quickly or slowly they want to make their way down the hill. Kids often love to push their sled fast down the hill with the wind in their face while others sometimes prefer to take it slowly and enjoy the scenery on the way down.

Though ski lifts are most frequently used during the winter months for bringing skiers uphill, these lifts are also available at the Olympic Park where riders can enjoy the views from 440 feet up. These leisurely rides are the perfect way to sit back and relax and take in the beauty of Park City as a family or a couple and riders can either ride back down or hike back down depending on which they prefer.

Free museum tours are always an option for everyone at the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum. These museums showcase the history of skiing, particularly in the local intermountain regions and visitors can experience some of the highlights of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games through various galleries and videos.
