I need a Credit Repair Company.......

Is there anybody out their that can recommend a reputable credit repair company? Preferably a company that someone has personally worked with or have had clients worked with in the past. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

In this market it is going to be a valuable resource.

Thanks much and look forward to hearing from you soon

If you have clients that want better results faster and cheaper than a credit repair company, they can do it themselves at www.creditboards.com

Hi Brad,

You could try Darrell Moore here on ActiveRain.

You can either search for him by name or he is in "my associates". From what I have read he may be able to help.

Let me know how you get on?

Regards,

Alan

I would recommend "National Foundation on Restoring Credit".  www.nforc.com

I have seen them work and feel they will do a good job.

Brad, in an one of my earlier blog posts entitled "Find Yourself in a Pre-Foreclosure Situation?"
I suggested a site for the National Foundation for Credit Counseling www.debtadvice.com    or www.moneymanagement.org
or by calling 866-889-9347

You can also find a list of HUD approved housing counseling agencies at  http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hcs.cfm?webListAction=search&searchstate=KS

or call  800-569-4287

I was recently introduced to FDI (Financial Destinations Inc.) they have helped my clients raise scores 50-150 points, they also pay off mortgages in 10 yrs or less, they basically help get rid of any debt in 1/3/ - 1/2 the time.  Lower DTI, higher fico.  Most of my clients are also taking advantage of the income opportunity as well.  Win/win.

There is also an income opportunity that has helped me and tons of other Realtors and Mortgage Brokers during this challenging time in the business.  I'm on track to make well over 150k by the end of this year.

If anyone is interested there will be a webinar for Realtors and Mortgage Brokers on Thurs. 4/3 at 9:00am PST, 12:00 and 3:00pm PST.  I can register you by your email address and let me know the best time for you.

Hope this helps you guys like it has helped me.

Debra

LOL...Hey Ted...you can also pull you own tooth under the supervision of a dentist but it could be a painful experience. Just saying!!! Everyone have a great day!

Darrell,

I love you too!!!!!  The reason why I help my clients do it themselves is after the process they are far less likely to get back into trouble after they clean up their own mess.  Don't worry there are plenty of people out there that need a mother to do it for them.

The fact is that there are things you cannot do for your clients, like take a collection company to small claims court or even threaten them that you will if they do not remove their erroneous reporting.  Also if the CRAs can prove that an individual is using a credit repair company we might as well kiss any changes on that report goodbye.

You got your niche enjoy.

You can do that if you have a limited power of attorney and are acting on a clients behalf. You are absolutely correct in saying that we can't threaten them. Actually I am not sure I would use that tactic with any company. On the other hand we can show where the collection company is violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

We work with the collection company to get the items removed. I can tell you by personal experience that my score went from 503 to 790 from November 1st 2007 to March 3rd 2008 and that is not because we didn't know what we are doing. Just remember this: If you start threatening these collections companies and they validate the debt they will sue you, win, and in some states start garnishment proceedings. Don't rock the boat if you cant swim!

We have been doing this 11 years and successfully do over 500 clients per month. We dont need a "niche".

Nothing but love for you brother! Have a beer on me!

Darrell,

I never said that credit repair companies do not know what they are doing.  There is definately a place for your industry, anytime I see a collection agency get it's behind kicked I am happy.  90% do not know the law, 90% are very easy to catch breaking the law.  It is very easy to take their validation rights away from them and it is very easy to get a collection agency to violate the FDCPA before they even know it.  Half the time collection agencies are trying to collect on money that has past the Statute of limitations.

I had a big bad attorney for a collection agency try to blow off my ability to sue and by the third exchange he folded like a deck of cards.  It helped that I had a copy of the CDIA manual and probably knew more about how debt is reported than he did.

Most of the people I deal with don't have much extra money to pay some one to do it and as I mentioned before, the process of cleaning your own mess up has a far greater impact after the process is over.  I don't do the work for them, I don't get paid.  I just show them the process and if is too overwhelming then they can either stay in trouble or call you.

I'm a fan of Lexington Law because you can monitor your clients progress via the web and see what items have been deleted without having to call anyone. You also get paid for clients that you refer (like $50 or something) which I'm not even interested in as much as tracking the progress. They offer a great price and have a solid reputation. They give you marketing materials to send your clients who have sub-scores. If your interested you can sign up via this link: https://www.progrexion.com/fsaffiliates/become_affiliate.php Enter in 10825 as the referrer (me) and your good to go.

Brad, remember that credit repair fraud is an epidemic today. and no one can legally remove accurate and timely negative information from any credit report. The law allows you to request a reinvestigation of information in your file that you dispute as inaccurate or incomplete. And by law, there should also be no charge for this. Everything a credit repair clinic can do for you legally, you can do for yourself at little or no cost. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you are entitled to a free copy of your credit report if you've been denied credit within the last 30 days. You can always dispute mistakes or outdated items on your own for free. Ask any of the credit reporting agencies for a dispute form or tell a client to dispute in writing and include any supporting documentation. Don't get fleeced. The Better Business Bureau recommends that you beware of any Credit Repair Companies that:

  • do not tell you your legal rights and what you can do -- legally -- for free;
  • recommend that you not contact a credit bureau directly;
  • want you to pay for credit repair services before any services are provided; or
  • advise you to dispute all information in your credit report or take any action that seems illegal, such as creating a new credit identity by obtaining a federal employer identification number to use instead of a social security number. If you follow illegal advice and commit fraud, you may be subject to prosecution.
  • Good thoughts.

I agree David and that is why we always put all legal rights in our agreement. About the paying in advance for credit repair the Texas Finance Code Title 5, Section 393 clearly states for a credit service company to collect money up front there must be two things in place. A surety bond with a recognized surety company and registration with the Texas Secretary of State.

You are right in saying that you can dispute the items yourself but you better be careful how you dispute these items. If you are not very careful in what you say you could be opening yourself up for a law suite and then you will have a collection and a judgement against you on your credit report. Be careful what you tell people because giving legal advice is not recommended!
