Auburn University Homecoming Parade and Friday Night Lights

The Homecoming Parade will take place at 6pm this Friday, September 26th. The route runs? from Thach down South College, turns to circle the Gay Street Lot, comes back down South College, and ends in front of Samford. There will be floats from various on-campus organizations competing in the ODK Float Competition, including multiple fraternities and sororities, the Honors Congress, and the University Program Council. In addition to the floats, the Auburn Marching Band will be performing along with the TigerPaws, Miss Auburn University, Miss Auburn, the AU Singers, AU Rhythm, Aubie, the cheerleaders, local dance studios and the Miss Homecoming Candidates as well many other groups. After the parade ends--approximately around 6:45--Friday Night Lights will begin. Friday Night Lights is a free event open to the public at the Gay Street Lot. It will begin with the Miss Homecoming candidates speaking at 7:00, then the Jon Wilkris Trio will open for Trotline, who will play from 8-9. There will be various vendors at the lot, including the Smooth n' Groove Truck and Wake Up Coffee. The city has labeled this night as an Event District, meaning that open containers are allowed at the lot.
