The arrival in fall in NH means it is "Fair season". One of the largest Fairs is the Deerfield Fair. It runs from Sept. 25-28, 2014. Billed as the largest "Family Fair" offering exciting exhibits, thrilling rides, shows, vendors, animals and all of the favorite fair food you want.
I went on opening night Thursday where you will find less people, no lines and no waits.
There were exhibits and competitions, the states largest pumpkin, flower displays, live stock, a petting zoo and camel rides. Wait camel rides, that is so New England (head scratch). There were new tractors and old tractors, 4H and school displays, horse pulls, a petting zoo, flower show, horse show, arts and crafts and vendors hawking everything.
The demolition Derby is not until Sunday, I was bummed but I did get to see a goat chasing a lady in the petting barn area. I need to be quicker on that video record button.
If you want to experience a true New England tradition, you MUST visit the Deerfield Fair.
