We are enjoying some Indian Summer weather in the Fox Valley area and after finishing my morning appointments, I headed back to my home office along scenic Rt. 25 which runs along the Fox River. On a spur of the moment, I pulled into the park alongside the bike trail and decided to sit and enjoy the scenic Fox River. It seems that I am always rushing somewhere and I have been promising myself that I would stop and enjoy the river for a while but like most things I kept putting it off.
As I sat and drank my iced Passion Tea, I asked myself why I had not done this sooner. With the sun in my face, the wind barely moving, I could feel my body relaxing as I watched the river water flow swiftly by. The constant swoosh of the cars, the tweeting of the birds and buzzing of the bees as they went from flower to flower, slowly melted the tension that I had in my body.
It's amazing how we sometimes don't appreciate the most simple things in our lives. The bike path is a perfect place to take a walk with friends or family as it winds through Oswego, Montgomery and surrounding towns. Through the years I have biked various parts of the path, from Aurora all the way to Geneva, IL.
So if you are feeling rushed and need to take a breather, pull over on Rt. 25 and take a moment to enjoy the river and the beauty that surrounds us in the Fox Valley area. This is why I have choosen to live in Oswego for over 15 years and hope to continue to enjoy the quiet semi-rural lifestyle.
