IS THERE A REAL ESTATE AGENT IN THE HOUSE!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with people first...then business Ran Right Realty 636943 licensed to thrill

A doctor goes to the movies. He is ready to enjoy the show when someone faints, falls over or lets out a scream or a yell. Then, someone says...Is there a doctor in the house? The rest you know. A path is cleared, the doctor is let through and the treatment begins. A doctor is never off he is just out of the office right now

IS THERE A REAL ESTATE AGENT IN THE HOUSE?

Our business doesn't work that way. Someone doesn't belt out in a public place...Is there an agent here? LOL. However, keep this in mine. We are judged by appearance where as the Doctor, if judged at all, is expected to perform. Perhaps that is what we have in common i.e. performance...But wait, there's more.

OUR IMAGE IS CLEAN CUT

An agent comes and goes in their personal lives and while they know they are off, if someone says or asks them what they do for a living, we don't want to stray too far from looking presentable. You see Real Estate agents conjure up a certain image in the public's eye....

LOOKING GOOD

Well dressed, casual, groomed, and in affect, we are walking talking billboards of our profession. There was a time that I used to sneak out real quick to go get something dressed down, in shorts and lets just say I looked like I was not on duty...Use your own imagination here...

SO WHAT HAPPENS?

It comes up! Somehow, someway, either I overhear a conversation regarding Real Estate and there is an opening to comment or someone asked me what I do or various combos of the circumstances. Looking like I don't do Real Estate works against me....

SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

There is a minimum point that I will not go past when out in public. I have to honor it except when I am at the beach. This is the life I have chosen and I am okay with it. One other thing...I have also learned to do this one other thing too after experimenting with it on and off for years...

ALWAYS CARRY THESE

Business cards! You got to have a "leave behind" ready to go that can be used to get a hold of you should that person need to get you whoever they are. Think: HAVE CARD WILL TRAVEL here...

We are not always ON...but we are never off (in theory)...says this Real Estate agent

Hello Richie,  Funny, I wear a Metro Broker shirt or a realtor shirt 5 days a week and a real estate jacket in the fall.  Business cards are always left with a good tip at a restaurant, you never know!

When we are out we do need to keep our ears open to be able to resuscitate that home owner in distress with a potential sale

I think it really depends on the town and locale whether agents look polished.
