What Makes a Seller Choose a Sacramento Real Estate Agent?

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

I think sometimes when a Sacramento real estate agent does what she says she's gonna do, she freaks out people without meaning to. Which makes me think that people don't always believe what an agent tells them and they have to see it in action with their own two eyeballs before they believe it. I have no reason to lie to anybody nor to make up things; I simply tell the truth the way I see it and then follow it up with a result.

A client who contacted me recently to sell a home in Fair Oaks is also a real estate agent. Her home closed yesterday. When I asked what made her pick me over the other agents she was talking to she said I was the only agent who asked who my competion was. Yeah, I asked for names. Now, see, I think that's a normal question to ask. I prefer to compare my strengths and weaknesses against my competitors so I can present evidence as to why I am the better agent. She liked that approach so she hired me. But she found out something else along the way that she apparently was not prepared for. You can read more in my personal blog today about What Kind of Sacramento Real Estate Agent Does That?

I made an offer on a home in a nearby town.  It comped out at 101,000.00 and around here you can get a decent home for that price.  However, the home needed some work so I offered 90K they countered at 111K and I countered at 95K due to the condition of the home they declined my offer and we moved on.

Yes, Elizabeth.  An agent should do all that they can in the best interest of their clients.  And, you do that!

It is amazing to me when sellers are surprised by us telling them to counter and having it work out.  Just like you, there are clues in the contract that you pick up to tell if the counter will fly.
