Silent Saturday ... Did You See That Squirrel??

By

Guthrie and Corina

This is Guthrie and Corina and they are on squirrel patrol.  He went that way ... no ... I think he went the other way!!

I was so happy to capture this picture for Guthrie (the big boy in the shade) is really camera shy and disappears as soon as I get out the camera.  We have had Guthrie for years and he was pulled by Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue on the day he was to be euthanized.  I agreed to foster him, so that he would not be destroyed and fell in love with him and adopted him.  It was the best decision and he has been a gem.

If you have the space please open your heart and home to an animal in need.  You will be saving a life.  Contact your local rescue groups for they need your help.

I think that if we open up to the idea, many would adopt. We didn't plan on it but all of our dogs were from shelters.

Rescue dogs are the best. Who knew a dog would be camera shy!

Good for you Judith.  Guthrie is a very lucky fellow, and I'm sure he knows it.  Squirrels are hysterical, the way they try to torment dogs, but better be careful or else they are dinner.

I took a few moments to 'like' the comments on your blog to add a little support for those who support your efforts. I hope that others will do the same thing.

Good evening Ron ... I think Guthrie is camera shy for he definitely was abused before rescued by Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue.  He may have been shot at and has a scar on his forehead.  Still so very sweet.

You have a big heart to rescue animals. I do the same thing. The neighborhood squirrels had better be careful with your dogs on patrol.

Good evening Bette ... we are the lucky ones.  I love how a rescued animal knows that they are finally safe.  So very sweet.

I hate the fact that some animals are put to sleep because of over crowding and no food resources.

Judith,

Your love for your pets is so real. I know they have formed a very special bond with you and they know the difference between good people and bad people. They will protect you from squirrels, varmints, or any creatures that don't belong there.

What a cute picture!  We are also big fans of adopting shelter dogs v. buying from a breeder.  Thanks for sharing.  Have a great Sunday!

Good morning Judith. A great picture and a wonderful message. Fostering saves lives and enhances our lives. Like you I am a failed foster but have had those that left too. I still think of them as my G-d Dogs.
