Blogging

Recently I was with other agents at our State Convention and was enjoying great conversations and meeting new people.  Several of us began discussing our success with blogging and one agent piped in with, "You must not be busy since you do all of that blogging!"

Those of us who are Active Rain bloggers had to keep our heads from spinning off as we whipped around to address this comment.  I am sure that the agent who said this was not intending to to be snarky and probably has never even attempted to blog at all.  However, it was a great platform to share the joys and successes of our blogging.

Blogging takes discipline and consistency!  Just as our real estate businesses rely on those same two qualities it occured to me that the agents who do blog successfully are typically very sucessful agents. These blogging agents have learned how to manage their time wisely.

Successful agents find innovative ways to stay in front of their clients.  Blogging is a great way to keep yourself in front of potential clients by posting informative blogs on social media.  I have had many people tell me that they read my blog and feel that I know my business!

Being considered a localism expert has come about due to my efforts with posts about local businesses, events, concerts, schools and more.  I get a ton of phone calls from people asking me about different locaslism posts.  Calls are a good thing!

Blogging brings in referrals!  Thankfully I have received many wonderful referrals from other agents here in the Rain!  Again, staying active and in front of other agents they remember me when they have a client moving to my area!  Score!

The answer to the question regarding not being busy because I choose to blog on a regular basis is a big fat NO!  Thanks for asking though as it allowed me to share the fact that BECAUSE of my blogging I have reaped many, many benefits to my business.  I am VERY busy yet understand that the efforts put forth in the blogging world pay off for my business!

I am thankfully very busy in real estate and make time to blog.  I enjoy it, it brings business and more importantly, relationships here in the Rain are great!  I would bet money on the fact that the most successful bloggers here are also very successful agents or other professionals!

Next time you think blogging is a waste of time or that you believe agents who blog are not busy, think again.  Maybe take a moment to read through the AR blog rolls.  I bet you will find engaging posts, great information and will meet some very successful professionals!

Bob, This is the comment I made on Paula's blog...

'Maybe, one of the reasons  I am so busy is BECAUSE I find time to blog.'

Blogging is a great way for the search engines to get to know you as well as the public.  I put useful information out into the universe and get back a good amount of business.  The trick is to be consistent and don't abandon the blofg when you feel like you aren't getting the results you want.  This process can take time, you are building trust with the public.
