Where are the Atlanta home buyers?  There are over 86000 homes for sale in Atlanta! Atlanta home buyer traffic is unusually slow for this time of year!  With new Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac limits, it is amazing that buyer traffic has only picked up minimally!  30 year fixed rate financing is very reasonable, sellers are willing to deal and pay buyers closing costs and make great concessions!  There are so many great incentives to buy Atlanta homes in this market - so where are all the buyers?  Normally spring is a great time for relocation traffic that fly into Atlanta to preview homes for a May or June move.  This year there were almost no calls for what is usually our busiest week of the year.  We did get a few Atlanta homes under contract, and closed a few others and what we've noticed is that it is much harder to keep the deals together!  Now more than ever it takes the experience of a full time Realtor to get you the best homes for sale in Atlanta!

Hi Jim - you are so right about it being so important now for consumers to work with full-time professional agents with the experience and knowledge of their local market.

There are some great mortgage programs out there for good qualified buyers, including the newly increased FHA loan limits.  I hope those spark some increased interest for buyers in your area.

Homefinders, Real Estate in MD & VA, Lenn Harley, Broker, New & Resale Homes  We have had a very slight uptick in buyer traffic but in no way does it compare to a normal market.  For sellers it is critical to have everything perfect, and buyer better know what they are buying!

I think the tide has started to turn. The media has stopped the Doom/Gloom and started to talk Opportunity. I had my fingers crossed for a nice juicey political scandal to help distract the media from their previous track... too little, too late I guess.

Sarah Nopp, REALTOR(R), CRS. RE/MAX Four Seasons, Olympia WA  I think we are in a spring bounce!  It is important to close as much as possible ASAP!  We closed 2 deals this week and got another under contract!  It was a very long dry spell!
