Mixed feeling on signage...

I have been wondering if having my picture on my signs really makes a difference?  What do you all think?  I often wonder if my ugly mug is a deterrence of makes people feel more comfortable that they are dealing with a real person.  I ask you to share your opinion.

LOL I guess it depends how do you look and who do you want to call you!

I don't think you need to have a picture but you should start thinking about branding you or your team. It could be a picture, logo or caricature. You, Inc. has some good examples. There are an approved Keller Williams person but you need to focus marketing your team not Keller Williams or another company, etc.

I don't have my photo on signs, but I think it is a good idea. It's like your business card photo, it makes people remember you.

Mike, I am with you, I wouldn't mind putting Darcy's picture on a sign, just not my ugly mug!  I don't think that it is any more effective than not having your picture on them, at least in our market.  I really think that it is a personal choice, if I looked like Tom Selleck circa Magnum PI, instead of what I look like, I would definately have my picture on the signs!

The "Gurus", you know those people you go to on the mountain top, say don't put your picture on your sign or your business card.

It has nothing to do with not looking like a model. People form an opinion from the picture and may eliminate you because of it.

David, I don't agree that the gurus don't use their picture.  Gene Rivers is a guru and puts his photo on everything because he believes that it makes it more personal.  I put my logo on everything but not my picture.  Just be consistant with what ever you do.

Thanks everyone for your input and advice.  I agree with you Jeff that consistancy is key.
