Average Property Taxes for Lindenhurst NY 11757

The average property taxes for Lindenhurst NY for 2014 so far is $9,444.

Below is a chart I created using data from the MLS. Ten years ago the average property taxes in Lindenhurst NY for 2004 was $6,073. Times have certainly changed.

I'm always asked from Lindenhurst NY homeowners if they can grieve their taxes. To be able to grieve your property taxes, we have to prove your home is worth less than what the Town of Babylon has you assessed for.

The process to start is easy. I come to your home to see how large it is, if you updated your kitchens and baths, if you have a finished basement or not, etc. Then I pull comparable homes for you. If I see your home is definitely worth less than the town's assessment, I give you those comparable homes and will direct you to a tax griever. The tax griever will double check and will tell you for sure if you can grieve your property taxes. It never hurts to try.

You'll laugh at the thought of the call I got the other day.  A buyer wanted to argue the tax bill with me on my listing.  I can't do anything about it.  And arguing with the local government  might just have you with a higher tax bill if they find they are actually under taxing you.

Yes, I am laughing Chris Ann! No undertaxing here on Long Island. Folks are either over assessed or assessed properly. Send that buyer here and they will think twice.
