Yes, it's snowing in Iowa again! 5532 Baraboo Court, Davenport, Iowa - winter

It's 18 degrees with a total of 5"-7" of the fluffy stuff expected by tonight.  Schools are closed, office is closed with the 20 mph winds great drifting is expected.  Just the kind of weather people want to go look at houses in!  :)  Actually, back in 1979, we had a 17" blizzard during which I sold a nice piece of real estate in Davenport to some people that had to buy that weekend.  It hasn't happened since 1979 though.  Most people prefer to avoid it.

When it stops snowing and blowing, the scenery left behind can be beautiful!

Winter on the Mississippi can be a real treat!

As for me, I'll take care of my business from my warm home, on my phone, and on my computer!

Because today is not only a Three Dog Night.........It's a Three Dog Day!!!

Great pictures.

I dont really remember when you took the one of me and my 3 puppies (Emmitt, Nugget, & Reba). Where did you come up with this picture? Did you buy a scanner or something??

Lucky II,

I took it about 2 years ago at the old house with the Sony digital your mother bought me.  The picture was downloaded to Pixela back then and when I got my new computer, I transferred all the Pixela photos to it.

I did buy the big HP Color LaserJet 2840 a couple months ago so I can scan, fax, and copy in color with great quality to my clients from my home office.

You didn't mention how cold it can get there with wind chills.  I remember growing up on that side of the state with you and it would quite often get down to 40 below with wind chill and when I went to Morningside College in Sioux City on the other side of the state, it went down to close to 80 below wind chill factor.

That's probably why you went to Florida a week or so ago, right?

I was in Chicago during the blizzard of 1967 and the one in 1979.  That was what made me move to Hawaii.

Aloha from sunny Hawaii.  It was in the low 80s today.

Marchel: Yes, my dear, I would never even need to wear a coat in Houston!  It's kind of like you in the summer.  You spend a lot of time indoors, from home AC to car AC to work AC so as to avoid the heat and humidity.  We do the same, maybe for a few days during the summer.  The good things about winter are: 1) They freshen the air.  2) They kill off germs, bugs, etc.  3) We can always put on more clothes to get warmer (when you're hot in the summer, and naked, you've got no recourse!).

Rob: You're right!  For some reason, Sioux City seems to get "hit" a lot worse that we do.  They're really not that much further north either.

Randy: 1979 was just plain ugly!  That would give most sane people enough just cause to leave the Midwest!  So, my Aloha brother, am I insane or am I just a stubborn German?

Thanks to all for commenting!
