Keeping up curb appeal after summer ends can be tricky. More specifically, keeping up falling leaves can be a daunting task, but it's very important to keep the yard neat so potential buyers don’t perceive it to be “messy”

Adding some fall flair isn’t a bad idea, but don’t go overboard. A few pumpkins on the front steps (tastefully placed) go a long way to celebrate the season and add curb appeal. Autumn flowers like mums placed in pots are also a nice fall accent. Choose yellow for a pop of color.

Now that the green trees and flowers are going dormant for the winter, part of your house may more noticeable. Think dirty siding! Consider a pressure wash before it gets too cold.
-
Change air filters to be sure air smells fresh and test your HVAC systems. Buyers will have it checked during an inspection, so better to know now if there are any issues that you’ll need to fix.

As it starts to get darker earlier, there’s less natural light to showcase the home. Be sure to have adequate lighting both indoors and outdoors, especially for potential buyers who will want to look at your home after they get out of work when it’s already dark. Well lit rooms look larger! And putting timers on the interior lights is helpful so that when buyers drive by the home looks like it has life.

Keep the thermostat up a little before showings to make the home feel warm and cozy.
