How to Feng Shui your Office in 3 Simple Steps

Be sure where you are doing work from home that the given space or location you choose offers you the privacy you need from other activities taking place in your home. Ideally it's suggested to have the office toward the back of your home, yet work with what you have.

  • Be sure you have a commanding position of the entrance into your office space. You always want to make sure you feel supported by knowing who is coming in and out of your space at all times. This also symbolizes you feeling more confident in seeing opportunities that come your way and being decisive with how to approach them.
  • Keep your office organized and try to keep only office related items within that space. Organization of your in home office is connected to how organized, structured, and good with management you are with daily interactions/tasks. Less clutter equals stronger focus and communication with self and others.
  • Be sure to have a supportive chair and items of achievement or that relate to your business.

Having a supportive chair may seem unimportant yet it is. Being comfortable and feeling supported will allow you to focus longer and stay driven towards you tasks for the day when at your desk. Being surrounded by visuals that consciously and sub-consciously support your business will positively impact you as well. Hanging diplomas, awards, certificates, business ideas on a vision board, logos, mission statement, etc will all offer that grounding energy.

Thanks Laura - I've got my office chair and desk facing the "right direction." Need to add a bit of creative energy though - I'll grab my books and see what I should do - love Feng Shui.

I no longer need that me wall and took it down years ago. I don't care to impress others either. I know it works well for others though.

Hey Debbie R, it's always what works for you and I find that similar comment givne from other clients sometimes. They express from their feelings, that by hanging up the 'me' wall, also called the reputation wall, it feels like they are trying to impress or may feel like they are giving off arrogant energy when others see it.

I will write a blog post to help express the idea of balancing out that presentation yet also the importance of at least one item being present to 'highlight' your energy, and it's not about not showing off.  Great comment and thank you.

Hm I had to choose between enjoying the window view or seeing the door so I put a mirror up.
